Bunny Bear

Two is upon us.

That is how I wanted to title this post.
Just a few more weeks and this little guy will be two!
I decided not to use that title because. . .
. . .well then I would have to go on and on about how we are doing terrible twos just right!

We are throwing fits and hitting and biting.

We are saying NO and running away.
We are throwing food and throwing bunnies.

Bunny Bear that is.
So instead of talking about the terrieble twos, lets talk about Bunny Bear.
Ben is in love with this bunny.
So sweet.
Why does that just melt my heart?
This toothy smile, I am sure, has nothing to do with my melting heart either!

Ninja

Today is Saturday.
We have no plans.
We have no reason to get dressed.
So me and my little Ninjas are just hanging out.

Have a super Saturday!

broccoli

It rained the other day.
It rained a lot.

We got tired of being inside, so we went out.

In the rain.
Kate was prepared.

As always.

The kids ventured over to our garden.
I stayed dry on the porch.

Can you tell what we are growing?
Ben picked some and ate some. . .
and shared some, with Bailey, our dog!

I have never seen an almost two-year-old eat broccoli like this kid does.
Pretty cool!
Kate likes it too.

Hope your day is happy!

play dough

Its the little things that thrill me now that I am a mother of three.
Ben has discovered play dough!
(Cue the Hallelujah Chorus)

Kate has always loved playing with play dough, and so did Mac when he was younger. . .
but, all my attempts at introducing play dough to Ben have ended up in his tummy!

Christmas must have matured him or maybe he could tell his mama needed a rest.
But he will (or at least for the moment) sit and play for a good 15 minutes.
(By the way, I told him to 'smile' got to love that!)

Think of all I can do in 15 minutes without a 21 month old under foot. . .
Cook supper
Clean the kitchen
Fold laundry
Clean a bathroom
. . .or maybe just sit down and enjoy playing play dough with Ben before he turns 21 years old.

christmas pictures

Well here I am again.
Christmas time, picture time.

I promise every year that I am not going to wait until the last minute to get a picture of the kids for our card.

And every year I still wait until the last minute.

I thought taking pictures of three kids was hard last year. . .

Silly me

Apparently, one and a half year olds and Christmas pictures do not go hand in hand.
At least his brother and sister are a little more cooperative. . .just a little!

I have lots and lots of pictures to go though and just a little bit of time.

I am hoping for a "Silent Night" tonight to wade through and find the perfect picture for our card!
Hope your night is a good one too!

(I have to make one small disclaimer.  I do realize that all three kids are wearing a different color shirt.  No worry, my plans are to do a black and white picture!  I know many of my dear friends probably think I have lost my mind with the odd color shirts!)

amazing grace

amazing grace how sweet the sound

that saved a wretch like me

I once was lost but now I am found

was blind but now I see

Lady Kate asked Jesus to come into her heart this past week!
We are overjoyed.

To understand that we are all sinners, even a sweet five year old, is hard.
To think that she was a "wretch" almost hurts.

But to be blessed with open eyes to see this at her age
and to be excited about one day being with Christ forever. . .only a precious gift from God.

To hear Kate pray to God and ask him to forgive her of her sins and to come into her heart!
That's what it is all about.
This life is nothing without God.

All three of our kids have been prayed for before they were even conceived.
All Trip and I have ever wanted for our kids is for them to know Jesus as their personal Savior.
Kate is so excited about coming into Jesus' heart. . .oops she says, Jesus coming into my heart!
Oh, to have faith like a child.

We love this sweet girl and we are singing praises to God for one day she will be with Christ forever.

halloween

Halloween.

We here at the Chocolate House like to stay super busy during Halloween.
See if you can keep up!

First there is the Fall Festival at church with Trunk-r-Treating.
(Harry Potter, Teddy Bear, and Underwater Fairy Mermaid Princess)

Then there is a Halloween Parade at Kate's school. . .here she is "parading"
After the parade the kids sing some Halloween songs on the front steps of the school and then a big party.

Mac had a party at school too and when they both got home there was lots of "trading".
(Best part of Halloween, right Chuck!?)

Then the final thing we do is the actual Trick-r-Treating.  (Thought it would never get here)

I tried hard for a group shot.
Teddy Bear was not having it last night!
In fact we caught him in the act of *gasp* hitting Harry Potter!

No, pictures, only candy, please!
Give this little Bear some candy.

Handsome Harry Potter survived his blow from the Bear and went on to have a marvelous and
Happy Halloween!
